GERIK : General Info

OVERVIEW

The journey from Ipoh to Gerik passes the scenic lakes and forest clad ranges, the vast bodies of freshwater at Temenggor, its greenery, hills and mountains, waterfalls and caves, birds, animals and insects, as well as forest tribes, all told stories of unforgettable experiences. The 130km journey from lpoh to Gerik, the administrative town for Hulu Perak, is a pleasant drive through excellent tarred road that cuts through verdant forest and plantation clad hills, while in the near distance, mountains, and jungle country form the backdrop on both sides. Out from the North South Expressway at the Kuala Kangsar exit Gerik the gateway to natures haven awaits alluringly but on the way there, visitors who take the time to stop and explore some interesting spots will be rewarded with delightful experiences. The Raban Lake and Lata Kekabu waterfall are two must stop locations. Both are located next to each other in the Lenggong district and are just about 30km drive from the Kuala Kangsar exit.

GETTING TO GERIK

To get to Gerik , from the North-South Highway take Exit No.143 at Kuala Kangsar - that's about 3 hours away from Kuala Lumpur. Then take Route 76 to Gerik. A new highway has replaced the old scenic rural road.
