AQUARIA KLCC

Concourse Level, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre

Explore the mysteries of the ocean without having to leave the city. Lovers of aquatic life will enjoy a visit to this gigantic aquarium, situated at the basement of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Reputed to be the largest aquarium in the world, it covers over 5,000 square feet, showcasing nearly 150 species of fishes from various parts of the world. Delight in watching the Sand Tiger Sharks, the over two-metre-long Arapaima Giga, coral fishes, seahorses and many more. Aquaria KlCC offers visitors the chance to dive safely with the sharks in their oceanarium. Not only do visitors get to swim but they also get the opportunity to feed the sharks (and no, you're not on their lunch menu).

Open to both divers and non-divers (the latter is given on intensive Discover Scuba familiarisation training), the Dive with Sharks programmed is a fun way to raise awareness on shark conservation efforts in Malaysia and helps to dispel the negative perception of sharks as vicious attackers. Those who wish to keep their feet dry can watch the entire action at Aquaria's 90m tunnel. Watch trained divers hand-feed the fish, including stingrays and sand tiger sharks. Spot the hidden shipwreck that has become home to the inquisitive reef inhabitants. The 55mm-thick tunnel is curved to withstand the enormous amount of pressure from the 2.7 million liters of water that fills The living Oceans aquarium. Other attractions include snakes, geckos and poisonous dart frogs.
