LUMUT INTERNATIONAL YACHT CLUB

Location : 4o 14' .25 N 100o 38' .4 E

Lumut International Yacht Club is situated near the centre of coastal Lumut. The club offers basic facilities and a cosy atmosphere for members and passing yachters. It makes an excellent base for yachters wanting to explore neighbouring Pangkor Island or simply to rest while cruising the Straits of Malacca.

Lumut International Yacht Club (LIYC) makes a pleasant alternative to some of Malaysia?s busier yacht clubs and marinas. Life here moves at a relaxed pace and the clubhouse is a good location to moor and appreciate the life in this small resort town. Most of Lumut?s activity centres on the ferries that transfer holidaymakers to the Pangkor Islands. There are 40 berths with competitive berthing charges. It can accommodate yachts up to 33m., while there is dry parking for more than SO boats up to 1 2m. The clubhouse includes a pool, restaurant., bar overlooking the riverine setting. library, gym and good value for money accommodation. There are several resorts nearby including one operated by the LIYC management. The services and facilities in town are very good for yachters and Customs are located next to the club and other government departments, a short drive away in Manjung. The seafront adjoining the club is being developed into a public recreational esplanade featuring restaurants.

The deep river sound in front of the Perak Yacht Club (PYC) is popular with budget cruisers and yachters seeking repairs from a range of marine services located around Lumut. The club is relatively isolated being 15km, north of Lumut and the facilities are quite basic. Facilities include: Covered boat bays. tractor service for towing boats, concrete slipway with winch for launching, moored buoys for yachts and Optimist and Laser boats.
