PORT DICKSON BEACH

The coastal resort of Port Dickson or PD is a popular weekend retreat on Peninsular Malaysia?s southwestern coast.

Situated about an hour?s drive from Seremban, Port Dickson has one of the longest beaches in Malaysia, offering holidaymakers ample room to frolic under the sun. Its sunny beaches, lined by tall coconut trees and shady casuarinas, are lapped by the gentle waters of the Straits of Malacca. There are numerous locations here for family outings and picnics. Its famous beaches, Teluk Kemang and Blue Lagoon, abound with water sports and other beach activities. Enjoy parasailing, canoeing, yachting or speed boat rides. The Port Dickson Fest and the International Port Dickson Ironman Triathlon are two exciting annual events held here. Holidaymakers have a wide choice of accommodation ranging from luxurioug resorts to moderately priced apartments and private bungalows. Relaxing spa facilities offering traditional massages and herbal treatments are available in the larger resorts. Take in the beautiful sight of the sun setting against the Straits of Malacca while enjoying a sumptuous seafood fare.   For yachters, the Admiral Marina and Leisure Club, as well as the Royal Port Dickson Yacht Club offer extensive facilities.

Close to Blue Lagoon is the Tanjung Tuan Lighthouse, a vantage point to enjoy breathtaking views of the coastline. Rebuilt in 1860 at Cape Rachado after the original was damaged by war, the forest here is a sanctuary for migratory birds as well as wild monkeys. Tanjung Tuan is also the venue of the annual Raptor Watch. The Kuala Lukut Kelong or fishing platform just north of Port Dickson, is a favourite spot for angling. Visitors should not miss a trip to the Armed Forces Museum, which showcases the history of Malaysia through dioramas and state-of-the-art interactive displays.
