SEDIM TREE TOP WALK

Sungai Sedim River

The 950m-long tree top walk at the Sedim River Recreation Park is the longest canopy walk in the world.

Built within the lowlands of Gunung Inas Forest Reserve, the tree top walk is an ecotourism attraction for nature lovers and provides unique and spectacular views of the tropical rainforest. The admission cost is RM10.00 for adults and RM6.00 for children. Children below 7 years old enter free of charge. Picnicking is also a popular family activity here as the recreational park has basic infrastructure and facilities such as chalets, changing rooms, public toilets and food stalls.

Those who are more adventurous can try white water rafting along Sungai Sedim which offers 17km of non-stop rapids graded between one and four. Kayaking and canoeing activities can also be arranged. The less adventurous ones can opt to go bird watching.

Visitors can choose to stay at Bintang Sedim Villa which offers dormitory accommodation. They can accommodate up to 120 visitors at any one time. The town of Kulim, 30km away, also offers basic to 2-star accommodation.

Getting There

If you?re planning to visit Sedim River Recreation park by road, from Kuala Lumpur, take the North South Highway (PLUS) and exit at Seberang Jaya into the Butterworth - Kulim Expressway (BKE). Proceed towards Kulim Hi-Tech Park and Karangan town.

SUNGAI SEDIM (WHITE WATER RAFTING)

Adjudged Asia Pacific?s top 5 white-water destinations by an independent panel of international experts, Sedim has to be on the priority list of all white-water aficionados. Besides, there are more reasons to be there. There is an operator that organizes white water activities along the 15km Sedim River on prior appointments. Located about 2 hours from Alor Star or 30 minutes from Kulim Hi-Tech Park, visitors can experience thrills and fun activities that include rafting, tubing, kayaking, camping and trekking or mountain biking and climbing to the nearby Gunung Bintang.
