Sekayu Recreational Forest was officially opened to the public in 1985 and very well known for its rich flora and fauna, a unique natural heritage bestowed by mother nature.  This forest is a panoramic beauty with crystal clear stream from a cascading waterfall exuding an aura of cool and invigorating atmosphere.  With natural hills covered by a canopy of green tropical forest, its variety of flora and fauna are simply amazing.

 

Tree of various species including those with medicinal value are also found here.  You will also be able to identify trees with commercial values as most of them are marked with signage's naming them and a brief description.  For fun lovers, this is the place you can picnic, swim and enjoy a host activities during your time here.

Terengganu Magnificent Waterfall - Sekayu Waterfall (3-tiered waterfall).

 
 

The beautiful 3-tiered waterfall is one of the main attractions to both local

and foreign visitors.

 

 

 

Ample picnic areas located along the river are popular sites for family outings during holidays. Shelters, tables and benches are placed at several locations within the picnic areas for the visitors' convenience. For those who yearn for adventure, a jungle trail approximately 3 km long, has been built in the forest area. This provides ample opportunities for visitors to observe and learn about the various species of trees, while at the same time provide mental and physical relaxation. For a milder form of exercise, footpaths are also provided for visitor to stroll around the woods.  The cool and clean atmosphere, the chirping of birds and the sound of insects further add to the serenity of the area. Visitor will also get the opportunity to see different species of wildlife such as deer, white-handed gibbons, otters, peacock and a few species of birds. A children's playground equipped with various playing facilities is also provided.

 
Getting There
 

Sekayu is approximately 56 km from Kuala Terengganu and 16 km from Kuala Berang.
